Bangladesh has yet again recorded the highest Covid-19 cases in a single day, crossing the 2,000 mark with 2,029 new positive cases.
Novel coronavirus, Covid-19, has infected a maximum of 2,029 people in the last 24 hours across the country. The number of infected cases reached to 40,321. However, 15 more died at the same time.
Test:
Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in the regular online health bulletin related to COVID-19 on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at around 2:30 PM, said 9,026 of samples were collected for testing in the last 24 hours and 9,310 samples were tested in 49 labs and identified COVID-19 case in the bodies of 2,029 people.
So far, infected cases reached to 40,321. So far, a total of 275,776 samples have been tested.
She also said, 500 more recover from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, total of 6,625, which is 20.69% of the total number of infected cases.
Death:
15 more died in the last 24 hours, total death toll reaches 559, which is 1.39% in terms of infected cases. Of them, 7 in Dhaka and 8 in Chittagong.
Isolation:
Besides, in the last 24 hours, 246 new people have been brought in isolation, 136 of people have been given release, so far total of 2,636. At present, there are 4,984 of people in isolation.
Medical Ameninites:
Total isolation beds of 13284, 6250 in Dhaka city, 7034 outside of Dhaka, ICU of 399, and dialysis of 106. Besides, 700 of beds are underway to ready. In the last 24 hours, 3 institutions have been added where services can be provided about 151 of patients.
629 of Institutions have been ready to get isolation services to 31991 of people across the country.
Privately, so far 16 institutions have been given permission for RT-PCR testing. 14 of Institutions in Dhaka, 2 in Chittagong and 1 in Bogra, which remained unchanged.
Quarantine:
In the last 24 hours, 4,001 new people have been brought in quarantine, total of 275,105 and 2,404 of people have been released from quarantine, total of 216,812.
Now there are 56,293 quarantine people.
Screening:
In the last 24 hours, 1,169 of new people have been screened, total of 699,099 have been screened so far.

The fast-spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 357,750 lives and infected more than 5,806,700 people globally till Thursday afternoon, according to Worldometer.
As many as 2,510,031 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has spread to 213 countries and territories across the world.
